Bianca In-Depth Workshop/Hackathon: Improve Your Handling of Sensitive Research Data

Overview and schedule

Are you already working with sensitive research data on Bianca and looking for ways to improve your workflows?

Join us for a one-day, hands-on workshop where you will learn more efficient ways of working on the Bianca cluster. Topics include transferring files directly from the command line (without using ThinLinc), advanced Slurm usage, and installing custom software and packages.

This workshop is aimed at intermediate Bianca users and combines short lectures, practical exercises, and Q&A sessions. There will also be opportunities to discuss your own workflows and challenges.

We will not cover an introduction to Arrhenius SENS, as a dedicated course is planned for December. However, we will be happy to answer questions about its current status.

Prerequisites: Participants should already be familiar with logging in to Bianca, submitting Slurm batch jobs, and transferring files.

You do not need to be a member of a NAISS SENS project in order to join the workshop. A SUPR course project will be available to all participants.

When: Monday, November 23, 2026.

Time: 09:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 16:00.

Where: online via Zoom. Connection details will be sent to registered participants.
